It all started when my sweet, optometrist parents took me to see a Salem Witch Trial reenactment for my fourth birthday. I was completely obsessed. And after a couple of years of pleading and begging, my parents hesitantly agreed to let my little 6-year-old self look into acting classes and auditions. I was off, performing in any show that would have me all over New Hampshire. And so my obsession led me to study at Carnegie Mellon University where I received my BFA in Drama, after which I promptly moved my butt to NYC. Since then, I have performed in numerous theaters (A.R.T./New York Theatre, Ars Nova, Bushwick Starr, Abrons Arts) and TV/Film (STAG, I Know Exactly How You Die) with renown industry professionals (Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Jeremy O’Harris). I have also written and produced my own work (Retract) and received awards and acclaim (Best Actress at Massachusetts Film Fest, SoHo International Film Fest). I am proudly of Portuguese, Irish and Native American descent.
I would describe myself as a dark comedy female lead who is tough yet vulnerable in the vain of Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec, The White Lotus) and Cristin Milioti (Black Mirror, The Penguin, Palm Springs). A deeply feminine woman who can play an intelligent young professional as well as a familiar and comfortable friend, wife or mother. And these characters are always able to find the humor in any situation. I thrive on collaboration and am always eager to discuss plays, movies, TV shows, books, music, etc.
In addition to acting, I also greatly enjoy singing and constantly strive to challenge my vocal ability. I’m drawn to soulful singers such as Brandi Carlile, Rachel Price from Lake Street Dive, and Etta James. These women aren’t afraid to let their emotion take over when necessary and I am so inspired by their ferocity. Singing is definitely a healing practice for me.
I also coach and advise all levels of actors/creatives at any stage. Whether you are just starting out, have an important callback or want to work through creating something on your own, I am here to help spark that creative passion with a fresh, encouraging perspective. Your artistry has a place in this business; let’s find it together. If you’d like to know more, please do not hesitate to reach out.
